Charles Walter Simpson

Charles Walter Simpson (1878-1942) was a Canadian artist.

Simpson was born in Montreal, Quebec.

War artist

Beginning in January 1918, he served with Canadian forces in the First World War. Simpson came to the attention of Lord Beaverbrook, who arranged for him to be commissioned as an "official war artist" along with Frederick Varley, J.W. Beatty and Maurice Cullen.[1]
